No Mercy DD or A Piece Of Shit

      © Shota Voskanyan

I party hard and dance ‘til three
drink fine champagne as if it’s tea.
I fill my flute and gulp it whole -
may God have mercy on my soul.

I drink to keep the ghosts at bay
or else they’d haunt me night and day.
When you need bread I offer coal -
may God have mercy on my soul.

You know I’m just a piece of shit
with torrent words of stinging wit
and matrimony’s not my goal -
may God have mercy on my soul.

Girl Talk

       ©Nataliya Begisheva

Grains of sand, stuck
by tanning oil to your thighs
glowed gold
like pollen on petal flesh,
roughened my tongue, as rough
as the stubble, there,
where you’d shaved. A hint
of perfume, salt from sea and skin
and the musk of your sex
a heady bouquet to your wine
arouse me now, recalling
how your head fell back, eyes closed;
I felt such power
and such tenderness, as you
convulsed, and thrust
against me.

Daily grind

                                 © Marko Davidović

you want to throw something at the sun
for being so punctual
here you are, rumpled on the bed
awake again and still alone
dreams tumbled back
under the blankets where your hand
rests on your sex, bored with the thought
of even trying for a feeling

being alive
makes you sick today
and you want to call a stranger
masturbate while talking to him
about weather or the price of fuel
but the battery in your phone
has been dead for days, the cats
need feeding and you haven’t shaved your legs
for so long it’s going to take hours
or a wax job you can’t afford

thought of shopping in the Mall
makes you pull the blankets up
turn over
and slink back to sleep
